Dinner Dance at One Marylebone
The Brief
The challenge for this event was to create a party that surpassed last year’s. The party last year took place at the top of the Gherkin, therefore it was no easy feat to find a venue to outshine this exclusive, iconic landmark.
The venue needed to be unique, somewhere guests would not have been before and not a hotel!
The Venue
The chosen venue was One Marylebone this stunning venue offers an exceptional event space in the heart of London. The venue is a decommissioned church, boasting various period features still intact; from stained glass windows to a beautiful alter area. The event took place in the Sloan Hall Reception and Sloan Hall on the ground floor.
The Party
This exclusive event welcomed 80 guests to celebrate the Christmas season and to treat staff to a night to remember to say thank you for their hard work. The beautiful venue needs little dressing however, a subtle Winter Wonderland theme was installed to bring together the Christmas Party feel.
Upon entrance to the venue guests were greeted from the street with large gas flambos and a red carpet entrance. The Champagne and Canapé reception took place in the Sloan Hall reception, this area had been screened off in order to hide the treat which lay in the beauty of the Sloan Hall.
The reception area was dressed with white chill out furniture with icy blue t light candle holders, low level LED lighting and a blue LED bar. With funky background music playing, guests sipping Champagne a caricaturist mingled, creating some hilarious caricatures of the guests.
After the reception it was time for the big reveal, as dinner was announced the screen was pulled back and “WOWs” were expressed among the guests. The Sloan Hall was dressed in silvers and blues, the room lighting highlighted the beauty of the event space while the tables were dressed with silver Lycra table cloths and large vase table centres filled with mini glitter balls and lit with classic white lampshades.
After dinner the dancefloor at the Alter quickly became a buzzing place to dance the night away while the large blue LED bar served free flowing drinks all night.
